Soft Boiled Eggs, Bread, Non-Halal
I was over at Taman Yarl and decided to head over to the original Kaw Kaw Pakkopi Tan Yew Lai for breakfast. I found myself savouring the simplicity of a classic breakfast.
Opting for a classic soft-boiled eggs (RM3.70) ensemble, my palate was met with a decent rendition of this breakfast staple. While not extraordinary, the eggs provided a comforting start to the meal, laying the foundation for what was to come.
The star of the breakfast show, however, was the steamed bread (RM4.50). Served with a side of kaya and cold butter, the bread exuded a chewy perfection that elevated my breakfast experience. The act of spreading the kaya and butter myself added a touch of interactivity, allowing me to customize each delightful bite. The ability to fold the bread allowed me a new way to consume it.
Dip It

Or Fold It

In the midst of savouring the flavours, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia. Kaw Kaw Pakkopi's breakfast presented a throwback to the simple joys of a traditional morning repast, celebrating the essence of Malaysian breakfast culture. If only they crack open the egg for me too, it would be bliss.
All in with a cup of Teh O Kosong (RM2.80), soft boiled eggs and the steamed bread - RM11. Take note, there is no SST or service charge at Kaw Kaw Pakkopi Tan Yew Lai. While the other outlets are OK, there's just an authenticity that the franchised outlets can't match.
