Few dishes can satisfy a hungry person better than freshly cooked claypot chicken rice which is served piping hot. It's simple, satiating and economical. The claypot chicken rice stall in the Zi Ji Ren Restaurant is one place that does this well.

Zi Ji Ren Restaurant, located at a busy intersection in Kota Permai, Bukit Mertajam.

The standard serving at this stall comes with marinated chicken meat, sliced Chinese sausage, dried salted fish, egg and chopped spring onion. The rice is fluffy and not much is burnt at the bottom. The dark soy sauce, Chinese wine and sesame oil that are added to it brings out the flavour and aroma.
