Beef Noodle, Street Food, Non-Halal
The first thing that hits you when you step into Restoran Choy Kei is the heat. Get past that and you are rewarded with some enticing hawker options. The famous stalls there are the fish head noodles and the seafood noodles. I didn't go for either as I was drawn away by the sight of the beef offal on display at Ngau Chap stall.
Quickly ordering, I eagerly awaited its arrival, eager to delve into the flavours that awaited me. Upon its presentation, I was met with a generous portion that spoke to the value offered by this establishment. The bowl brimmed with an array of beef offal and lots of noodles, promising a hearty and satisfying meal.
I sampled the beef offal, finding them to be adequately prepared. The chunks of beef meat exhibited a slight toughness. Nevertheless, the flavour was undeniably robust. Accompanied by a medley of offal cuts, the dish provided a diverse array of textures and flavours that made it pleasurable for me.
The broth, a cornerstone of any good noodle dish, did not disappoint. It offered a a blend of savoury notes that complemented the beef offal well. The chili sauce was perhaps a slight let down compared to the rest of the dish. It was spicy but lacked any tanginess.
Priced at RM15 per bowl, the offering provided decent value for the quantity of offered.
The seafood noodle was good too according to my friend who ordered it.
