Tacos
We weren’t expecting to find one of our favourite meals of the trip inside a small taco bar in George Town. But that’s exactly what happened at Pablo’s.

We ordered the Ya Rou Taco, Beefin Taco and Pablo’s Signature Pasta.
The Ya Rou Taco was the clear winner for me.
The smoked duck was wonderfully savoury, with just enough smokiness to give it character without overwhelming the other ingredients. Combined with the melted cheese, fresh salsa and creamy sauce, every bite felt balanced. Nothing competed for attention, making it an easy taco to finish and immediately want another.

The Beefin Taco took a different direction. The slow-cooked beef had a noticeable sweetness that reminded me of Korean bulgogi. While I generally prefer savoury flavours, Jen enjoyed this one more than I did, proving that it’s very much a matter of personal preference rather than execution.

The same applied to Pablo’s Signature Pasta.
The Cajun cream sauce, finished with Parmesan, was rich and creamy, but it also leaned towards the sweeter side. Again, it wasn’t what I personally look for in a pasta, although Jen enjoyed it. The chicken was nicely cooked, remaining juicy throughout, and the pasta itself was cooked to a good texture.

What I appreciated most about Pablo’s was that the food had its own identity. It wasn’t trying to imitate traditional Mexican tacos. Instead, it blended different influences into flavours that felt contemporary and approachable.
I’d happily return for one reason.
The Ya Rou Taco.

Creative flavours, quality ingredients and generous portions make Pablo’s good value. While not every flavour profile suited my palate, the overall execution was consistently good.

A casual, intimate space with counter seating that suits the style of food well. It feels relaxed and encourages you to slow down and enjoy the meal.

X – X-Factor
The Ya Rou Taco stands out by combining smoked duck with well-balanced toppings that complement rather than overpower one another. It’s a taco I’d gladly order again.
