Chicken Chop, Pork-Free
It has been several years since my last visit to a Madam Kwan’s and since I was just next to one, I decided to visit their outlet at 163 Retail Park in Mon’t Kiara. And of course, I had to have my favourite dish - Chicken Chop. For other reviews of chicken chop, click here.
The Chicken Chop at Madam Kwan’s is not cheap. Priced at RM34.90 (after service charge and taxes), it is at the top end of what one would pay for a chicken chop in a Malaysian cuisine restaurant. Nevertheless if it is outstanding, then they could justify that price.

I ordered the chicken chop with a black pepper sauce. The condiments that came with the meat were 3 stalks of broccoli, half a tomato, some kernels of corn and lots of fries. Visually, the plate did look presentable. The chicken spread out to occupy significant real estate on the plate. That is until you look at how thin the chicken is.

Visual inspection done, it was time to cut into the meat. The chicken was fresh and succulent but beyond that I could not say much more. It was competent for sure but it would not entice me to consume it again.

And that ends my review of Madam Kwan’s chicken chop at 163 Retail Park.
I scrooged. I did not order a drink. I asked for water, which is free.
Prices include a 10% service charge and a 6% SST.
