A chance pass by to this section of USJ1 brought 1957 Kopi to out attention. Apparently it had just opened in October or November 2022 and it still had a new look to it. The signboard didn't look faded. But despite being a new kid on the block, there was a good number of patrons dining in at their outlet. This warranted going in to have a look.
The menu revealed that they served noodles paired with Yong Tau Foo. Upon later review, I realised that they are actually from Gopeng, Perak. They come from Kampung Kopisan and have been making the famed Kopisan Lai Fun since 1957. Hence the name of their Kedai Kopi.
However, what I had this visit at 1957 Kopi was a Kon Low Loh See Fun with a lot of Yong Tau Foo. The Yong Tau Foo is chosen from a fridge where you take your pick of what they have available. And they have lots. The brinjal, lady's fingers, chilli, bitter gourd are freshly stuffed when you order them, before they are fried.

The ingredients in the Yong Tau Foo tasted fresh. Being an Ipoh style Yong Tau Foo, the stuffing would be made out of fish paste. I much prefer the Hakka style which includes cuttlefish that gives it a more robust flavour but that is a matter of personal preference.

What I particularly liked was the Loh See Fun. It had nice springiness to it. The dry sauce that was laid on the noodles was a tad sweet for my liking but it was remedied by adding some chilli sauce on top of it.

Given the origins of 1957 Kopi are from Gopeng they would know there to get good kopi. So, it is no surprise that white kopi here is aromatic and smooth.
The bill for two of us came up to RM36.10.
Prices are nett.
PSA - Check your bill before you pay because they might accidentally miss delivering some items. Anyway that's always a good practice at any restaurant or cafe.
