Chiefeater Jotaro Zen had some fried snacks as a late night meal at One Six Eight Eight Kafe in Farlim Air Itam

Hakka, Yong Tau Foo, Non-Halal
While I was at Atria Shopping Gallery, I stumbled upon a quaint eatery boasting Hakka Yong Tau Foo. It's located next to Michele's Kitchen and in hindsight, judging by the colour of the signboard I reckon they must be related. Upon perusing the menu, I was drawn to the plain Sang Mee (RM4). I thought a noodle dish would complement the savoury flavours of the Hakka Yong Tau Foo. Most pieces of Yong Tau Foo are priced at RM2.50 a piece.

Once I took my first bite of the Sang Mee, I found that the noodles were softer than I had hoped for, lacking the springy texture that I typically associate with this dish. While the flavour was pleasant enough, it failed to leave a lasting impression, falling short of the robust taste I had anticipated.

Similarly, the Yong Tau Foo, while generously portioned and freshly prepared, failed to capture the essence of authentic Hakka cuisine. The fish paste filling lacked the depth and complexity that I had hoped for, resulting in a rather pedestrian taste that failed to excite my taste buds. While the ingredients were undoubtedly fresh and of high quality, they failed to capture the taste and texture I had expected of Hakka Yong Tau Foo. My disappointment aside, there were a lot of diners there so I can only surmise that there are others who like their YTF served here.
My total bill for the noodles, Yong Tau Foo and a drink came up to RM25.
