Beef Noodles, Non-Halal
Returning to Xiguan Wantan Mee, I decided to try their stewed beef noodles (RM16.90) this time. Opting for wantan mee as the base, I was not disappointed. The dish turned out to be delicious, showcasing why this place is a favourite among many.
The gravy mixed with the wantan mee was exceptionally thick and bursting with flavour. Each bite of the noodles, coated in the rich, savoury sauce, was a delight. The beef was tender, cooked to perfection, and complemented the noodles beautifully. My only minor gripe was the lack of an option to add extra tripe, which would have been a nice addition to an already wonderful dish.
However, the dining experience was slightly marred by the presentation of the kopi (RM3.80). The spillover effect, with coffee on the handle, was annoying and detracted from the otherwise pleasant meal.
The business at Xiguan Wantan Mee has done so well, they have taken the shop next to their original. Double the capacity but also double the wait since the kitchen has not been expanded.
