Chiefeater Kane Chong stopped by Da Jia Da Lee Restoran for brunch after a rough car day and liked the yuewat and yuedaomei there

This is my 3rd visit to Chee Seong Seafood in Sri Petaling and I don’t even live nearby. That said this place offers range of delicious seafood at a reasonable price.
As it was still CNY, we kickstarted the lunch with a Crispy Fish Skin Yee Sang. I felt it was creative take on Yee Sang to replace the seafood with lots of crispy fish skins. It was the star dish of the day. The fish skins, the crisps and vegetables make the whole dish ultra cruchy – double or triple the cui cui pok pok!
After the lou sang, we had the baked Dragon Tiger (a.k.a. Hybrid) Garoupa in a light sauce. While delicious, I felt that it was a tad bit over cooked. Perhaps as it was baked in the ceramic pot which would continue to cook the fish even when it’s removed from the heat.

We also had the Mapo Toufu, which is good and the Kai Lan, which was acceptable.

We also had their signature Lap Mei Fan or Waxed Meat Rice, which is only served during new year. Salty moist slightly sticky baked rice covered in a generous serving of Chinese sausages. I would say it’s one of the better ones I’ve tried so far.

The meal at Chee Seong Seafood set us back close to MYR500. The fish alone was over MYR150.
