Popiah, Street Food, Non-Halal
This roadside tricycle stall that operates beside Jelutong Wet Market offers simple traditional popiah (spring rolls). They offer a no-frills version without any add-ons available.

The current and camera-shy proprietress is Madam Ooi, popularly known as Popiah Ee among her regular customers.

The main ingredients for the popiah, stewed mangkuang (jicama).

No add-ons available for the traditional styled popiah here.

She is continuing her family’s popiah trade. She took over the business from her parents who had started hawking popiah in 1974. And the price per roll had since risen from 10 sen to RM2.50 now. On most days, the popiah is sold out well before the closing time.
