I’m not sure why PappaRich didn’t survive their crossover south of the bridge - but at the rate Nan Yang Dao is going - they’re going to take market share away from even the Singapore (established) kopitiams like Killiney. And I’d wager if they keep this up- even Tsui Wah from HK might give way.
Today, i made a beeline for the curry mee. Specifically KL curry mee. I was slightly impressed they had mention of Selayang, Puchong (smaller districts) all over their already extensive menu. For laksa lovers - there’s discernment between KL, Penang, Ipoh, Sarawak and the local variant here, Katong Laksa. There might be others eg Johor, Kelantan but let’s not digress. I was pining for KL laksa.
Nan Yang Dao did not disappoint. Again. This is a solid 7.25/10. Put it this way, the highest recorded laksa in KL for me was 8/10. Wait I haven’t reviewed/ revealed that yet - next time! I don’t see any worthy competitors to NanYang just yet. That is if you’re after authentic Malaysian hawker fare. Next round, the Penang rojak!
