Mutton Curry, Beer, Pork-Free
Bukit Jalil has been transformed into a food haven, not least because of more outlets opening within Pavilion Bukit Jalil. I had wanted to revisit Naughty Babe Dirty Duck but there was a pretty long queue so I decided to give it a miss. Since I had not visited Souled Out Bukit Jalil, we decided to give it a go.
My wife ordered a Duck Mantao (RM18++). It was colourful pink mantao but that’s all the positive we could say about it. The duck meat had been diced into small bits to make the filling. The filling was already falling out of mantao when it arrived at our table. The flavours were somewhat underwhelming.

I ordered the Railway Mutton Curry because it sound different. Later research revealed that this was dish that had origins during the British Colonial period in India. It was served in the first class coaches of the Indian Railways and made available only to the upper crust of society. To cater for uninitiated palates of their British travellers, the spiciness was toned down to make this a more mellow version of Indian mutton curry.

The Railway Mutton Curry (RM35++) was served with side of naan. I did enjoy this dish. I found it still had enough spice to give it a mild kick. The mutton was tender and the naan complemented the dish well.
It went well with a pint of Paulaner, though I should have checked the price first. It was RM46++ for a pint!

Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable meal that we had at Souled Out Bukit Jalil.
