Turkish, Pork-Free
Dinner at Sofra Turkish Cafe. Sofra, which means ‘dining table’ in Turkish, serves authentic Turkish and Mediterrenean cuisine. Their Hummus (SGD6.20) is one of the most popular and loved dishes here. It sticks to the classic style of preparation, with a simple mixture of mildly spiced creamed chickpeas with tahini and lemon juice. Pair the Hummus with a light Sesame Bread (SGD3.90) to start your meal. Fragrant with sesame, this is going to leave you wanting more.

The kebab spread was surprisingly good. I’m not a fan of middle eastern cuisine but this dish is something else.

We also got a few servings of beef, lamb, chicken pide- and they were all chewy & flavourful - kinda like pizza but better.

The ladies all vouched for the sweet desserts - kunefe and baklava.

The highlight of the evening for me was some excellent braised meats coming out of an earthen pot - what a spectacle of fire it was. This way of cooking sealed in all the juices and flavours of the spices. Brilliance.

Sofra Turkish Cafe is a solid 7/10 for one of my maiden Turkish cuisine experiences in Singapore. Recommended! Total damage SGD427.32 for 8 pax.
