Dinner with some friends at a local neighbour hood restaurant, Restoran CH Seremban Jaya. The corner shop is a food court in the morning, and transformed into a chinese restaurant during night time.
We had lemon steamed seabass, Hakka-styled braised pork belly with black fungus, braised snake gourd and bean curd, deep fried lotus root, clay pot egg plant, omelette and stir fry spinach.
The garlicky lemon steamed seabass (石甲鱼) was with a slightly tangy broth, the fish was fresh and firm. It was very appetizing. We polished it off in double quick time.
The Hakka-style braised pork belly with black fungus in bean paste was savoury and tasteful, the bean paste, fermented bean curds (腐乳) and a dash of aromatic Chinese wine elevated the taste to the next level.
Claypot eggs plant with minced pork and salted fish was rich and flavourful.
Deep fried lotus root with salted eggs (咸蛋莲藕) has a crispy and crunchy tempura texture. The lacy geometric holes of the lotus roots made the dish look very appealing.
Braised snake gourd and bean curd.
Omelette and stir fry spinach was normal.
Service was prompt considering that the restaurant was full house with hungry diners. Price was very reasonable.
