After having try ancient CKT, i must try the hanchu-man CKT at Kedai Makanan Seong Huat too. er… hanchu-man time is also very ancient time right? so about same-same? haha.
i know about this CKT via 48holiao video. i am curious though why the name hanchu-man (at his video) and is hanchu-man for the sotong or for the CKT on the whole?
normal CKT will be RM8 small and RM9 big
normally i prefer only original stuff in the CKT but for this time i decided to try the ‘all in one’, which consists of prawns (of course), mantis prawns, cockles and sotong (squid). RM20.00
this is one time i found the extras taste better than the noodles. overall verdict is that on the whole it was kind of average. about the same like the ancient CKT i had the other day. however the the prawns, mantis prawns and cockles were good
the prawns were fresh and fat, the mantis prawns were very crispy and tasty and the cockles were not those tiny ones where i usually found at other CKT. the sotong, as you can see from the close up pic (next pic), was in a unique shape, like a flower (or was it the whole sotong?). er… so is this manchu-han sotong? how’s the taste? quite good actually but problem is that i found it hard to bite off the sotong. luckily though the taste does not feel rubbery.
showing you the special sotong
showing you the koay teow noodles, i was rather disappointed that they seemed to be like ‘smashed up’ into small pieces. not being able to see the noodles long strand. the taste was quite okay, only the noodles not being able to see it strand by strand.
i try the sui kow (chinese dumpling) soup.
RM11 with 4 pcs of sui kow. the soup was very tasty, not salty at all (as i found many sui kow or wan tan soup too salty). the sui kow was very compact wrapped up and full of sutff insde (see next pic) eg minced meat, prawns and veggies
close up to show the inside. overall tasted good
