Indian, Pork-Free
Bombay Biryani House in Kota Kinabalu offers a straightforward take on Indian and local favourites, and while the meal had its ups and downs, there were a few noteworthy elements.
First, I would skip the seafood, whether it's the prawns or the sotong.
Sambal prawns were mushy.

Fried Sotong was chewy.

The Lamb Briyani was decent, if not particularly remarkable. The lamb itself was well-seasoned, tender, and cooked to the right texture, and briyani rice was alright too. For those looking for a filling plate of briyani, this does the job more than adequately.

A surprising highlight was the stir-fried kailan—not something one would expect to stand out at an Indian restaurant, but it turned out to be quite enjoyable. Fresh, well-cooked, and it had a good amount of seasoning, it was a pleasant contrast to the heavier flavours of the briyani.

The service, however, left something to be desired. The wait staff seemed a little disoriented, occasionally forgetting plates and cutlery, which slightly dampened the overall experience. While not a dealbreaker, it’s an area that could use improvement.
