At Eleven Fingers Eu Kee Scissors Curry Rice. Nothing beats a plate of ‘banjir’ Chinese curry rice or chapfan. This is quintessentially Southeast Asian - economy rice. Scissors cut rice got its name over the years bcos the operators snip strips of meat - like expert tailors. And there’s something about Chinese style curry - it’s milder than their Malay and Indian counterparts.

This is a very rustic place in Bugis. It’s as if you’re transported back into the 1960s (in a good way). The curry chicken and braised pork was cut into strips - overall 7/10 experience. The stall is operated by an old couple.

Need something to curry you up? I was so excited to finally find a decent store serving up traditional Hainanese curry rice smothered in a piping hot delicious sauce. There’s no such thing as too much gravy when it comes to curry rice.

The Pork Belly was marinated to perfection, with strong flavours from the braising process.
