Wantan Mee, Street Food, Non-Halal
new foodcourt that opened end of january this year. 5 stars wantan mee – as the owner himself, jack, called it. and claypot pork ribs rice – same owner. i went too early (at 10.30am) and only 4 stalls were opened out of the about 20 stalls i think. wanted to try the char koay teow, not opened. wanted to try the liverpool mee goreng, also not opened. so no choice but to settle on the wantan mee and claypot rice.
i eat-in the wantan mee and tapau (takeaway) the claypot rice. very seldom come across pork ribs claypot rice, so had to try it.
i thought those 3 pcs on top are fried wantan but apparently not...? just like crackers. then i found one piece of fried wantan hidden away underneath.
the plate is hollow in the centre and all the noodles are inside the 'hole'.
the wantan mee… well i will give it 4 stars instead. the yummy taste was there all right but then the noodles itself seemed to be too sticky (‘nua’ in hokkien). should be loose and can see each strand clearly.
jack was friendly and likes to talk a lot. he was also kind enough to treat me to a free bowl of wantan soup with 3 different types of wantan. with fishballs and one was dumpling with prawns if i understand correctly.
claypot chicken/pork ribs rice
the rice was quite good. lots of 'liau' in it... all tasted good.
foodcourt opens at 10.00 am but very few stalls will be opened at that time. most will open by 12 noon and evening is most busy time. think close at 10.00 pm
Stall Business Hours
