The Sungai Buloh New Village industrial area is home to many surprising culinary delights, including 168 Thai Restaurant, a restaurant I often visit. It’s a bit hidden, tucked away behind a row of shophouses, making it difficult to spot for those unfamiliar with the area. Since there aren’t many Chinese and Thai stir-fry restaurants in this area that serve pork, I’ve become a regular over the years. Their salted fish and pork belly hotpot is incredibly savory and flavorful, with a perfect balance of fat and lean pork belly. It’s so delicious that I can’t stop eating it with rice.

For dinner tonight, in addition to the must-try salted fish and pork belly hotpot, I also tried the owner’s recommended Nyonya steamed fish. It had a Thai-style spicy and sour flavor, blended with unique Nyonya spices, and was refreshing and appetizing, offering a unique flavor. I had originally wanted to order their usual Bagu wild vegetables, but they were sold out today. The owner kindly recommended the sambal vegetable sprouts, which were indeed spicy, fragrant, crisp, and refreshing, making them a great dish to go with rice.

Overall, the dishes at 168 Thai Restaurant always bring surprises. It is suitable for gatherings with family and friends, and also for people like me who are greedy and looking for delicious food.
