Dim Sum
I have been to Upper Palace TRX and when I realized they had an outlet closer to home, I decided to give it a try. Upper Palace Bukit Jalil had a promotion of one noodle dish and four dim sum dishes for RM68.80++.

We went for:
Steamed Siu Mai with Shrimp & Roe

Steamed Crystal Prawn Dumplings (Har Gao)

Steamed Char Siew Bao

Stir-Fried Seafood Hokkien Mee

Spare Ribs with Taro in Black Bean Sauce

Plus add-ons:
XO Fried Radish Cake

Steamed Rice Roll (Chee Cheong Fun)

Jellyfish with Scallion & Chicken

The restaurant’s dining hall had a refined, golden glow — the kind of setting that gives the impression of a more upmarket dim sum experience. Service was attentive, and dishes came out promptly.
The siew mai stood out with firm texture and fresh prawns, while the char siew bao had a soft, fluffy bun and well-balanced sweetness.

Unfortunately, the Hokkien Mee lacked wok hei, tasting flat despite the glossy sauce.

The XO fried radish cake, while tasty, suffered from the same issue. More wok hei would have lifted it.

The chee cheong fun had sheets that were too thick for my liking.

The jellyfish and chicken in scallion sauce, however, was excellent. Refreshing, crunchy, and well-marinated, it was the one dish that felt memorable.

• RM68.80++ Dim Sum Set
• Additional items: RM74.35
• Total Bill: RM143.15 for 3 pax
Score: 8.0/10
M – Meal Value (7.5): Good lunch promo value, though execution could be stronger.
V – Vibe & Venue (8.0): Elegant dining hall with calm service and family-friendly atmosphere.
X – X-Factor (8.5): The jellyfish and chicken in scallion sauce gave the meal its only true sparkle.
