Every dish at Foon Kee Restaurant was excellent, cementing this spot as a solid choice for a local Chinese Tai Chow dinner. We had to wait a bit for dinner but it was worth it.
We started with the Bittergourd Egg, which was lovely—a comforting and well-executed rendition of a classic vegetable dish.

The Fried Rice was a highlight, praised for having plenty of wok hei, demonstrating great control of the heat by the chef. Actually, you can even hear the sound of the stove from the front of the shop, which was a good indication of the level of the fire.

The tofu dish showcased expert frying: it was crispy on the outside but had a nice, smooth softness inside.

We also had the Marmite Chicken, which was good, providing a savory and slightly sweet main protein.

The best part of the meal was the total price, coming in at a very reasonable RM66.70 for all four dishes shared among 3 pax.
Fried Rice - RM10.00
Bittergourd Egg - RM15.00
Crispy Tofu - RM13.00
Marmite Chicken - RM24.00
Drinks - RM4.70
Total Bill - 66.70
Score: 8.7/10
M - Meal Value
Ordering four dishes for RM66.70 for what appears to be two to three people is excellent value. The price point is fantastic for the quality received.
Score: 9.0/10
V - Venue & Vibes
As a typical neighborhood *chu char* spot, the venue focuses on simple, unpretentious dining. The vibe is casual and focused purely on the food, which is where it shines.
Score: 6.5/10
X - X-Factor
The consistent high quality across all dishes, particularly the mastery of wok hei in the fried rice and the perfect texture contrast in the tofu, gives this restaurant a high X-Factor for execution.
Score: 8.6/10
