Kaya Toast
Breakfast at Oriental Kopi in Bandar Puteri Puchong was a nostalgic visit to the location where the brand first established its Klang Valley outpost in late 2021. The long queues that originally stretched past seven shoplots have since thinned, but it remains a prominent destination for authentic Nanyang cuisine.
Jen ordered the Mee Goreng Mamak, which was alright but had a somewhat sanitized and clean taste compared to more rugged street versions.

Kopi with Butter

I opted for the Dry Curry Chicken Mee Pok, which remains consistently good though the noodle was not as al-dente as I had it before. The taste, however, remains still as good.

A brilliant discovery occurred when I decided to dip my Double Butter Kaya Toast into the leftover curry from the Mee Pok. The combination was an exceptional blend of sweet, savoury, and spicy flavours.

Dry Curry Chicken Mee Pok – RM13.90
Mee Goreng Mamak – RM13.90

At approximately RM26 per person for a main, drink, and shared toast, it remains a competitive option in the modern kopitiam scene.
Score: 7.5/10
V – Venue & Vibes
The ambiance is a sophisticated take on 1970s kopitiam culture, featuring marble tabletops and a nostalgic playlist. It is a cozy setting for breakfasts.
Score: 7.8/10
X – X-Factor
The true X-factor is the versatility of their flavors, specifically how their signature spicy curry interacts with their traditional sweet kaya toast.
