Braised Pork, Dumplings
Finding Waipo Xiao Chi (外婆小吃) in Bandar Puteri Puchong proved to be a fantastic discovery, primarily for its impressive balance of good food and highly affordable pricing. This unpretentious eatery specializes in a variety of traditional Chinese snacks, noodles, and handmade dumplings, making it a reliable spot for a casual and budget-friendly meal.

A notable detail for first-time visitors is the distinction between their dumpling offerings. The Xiao Long Bao (RM12 for 7 pcs) at this establishment is a solid meat dumpling but notably does not contain soup.
Look at the size of the dumplings!

Glad to be reacquainted with Cold Noodles, which I first encountered in China.

They gave us a complimentary cucumber dish.

This is what we packed for dinner.

For those specifically seeking the traditional burst of broth, the Steamed Soup Dumplings (RM15.50 for 9 pcs) is the correct item to order.

Another highlight from the menu is the Braised Pork Rib, which proved to be excellent and even held its quality well. At RM12.50, you are really hard pressed to find a better deal.

Xiao Long Bao (7 pcs) – RM12.00
Steamed Soup Dumplings (9 pcs) – RM15.50
Chinese Cold Mixed Noodles – RM8.00
Braised Pork Ribs with Rice – RM12.50
Average spend per pax per meal – RM18
Score: 7.9 / 10
M – Meal Value
The value proposition is the standout feature of this discovery. With most substantial noodle dishes and large portions of handmade dumplings priced under RM16, it is one of the more economical high-quality options in the Bandar Puteri area.
Score: 8.8/10
V – Venue & Vibes
The restaurant offers a simple, clean, and functional environment typical of a modern neighborhood snack house. It is an ideal spot for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner without fuss.
Score: 7.0/10
X – X-Factor
The X-factor is the combination of authentic, home-style flavors and “impressive” pricing. Finding well-executed braised pork and handmade dumplings at these rates in 2026 makes it a rare and valuable “find” for the local community.
Score: 7.8/10
