Sushi Nakamura Fish Noodles in the Best

Hong Kong, Fried Rice
Lunch today at Wong Kok Bloomsvale was a bit of a mixed experience. I ordered the Black Pepper Udon with Sliced Beef, which unfortunately fell flat; while it was certainly peppery, that was the only taste I could get out of the dish.

On the other hand, the XO Fried Rice was much better. It was well-seasoned and flavorful, though I did find it to be a bit oily. The prawns in it also had a nice bouncy texture and were tasty too.

And I liked the coke with ginger.

too.
Black Pepper Fried Udon (Sliced Beef): RM17.90
XO Fried Rice: RM15.50
Total: RM61.15 for 3 pax (With drinks and including 10% Service Charge and 6% Service Tax)
Average Spend: RM20.38 per pax
Score: 7.2/10
M – Meal Value
With an average spend of roughly RM20 per head for a mall-based meal, the value is fair. While the udon was a disappointment, the portion sizes and the quality of the XO fried rice keep it within the range of a reasonable casual lunch option.
Score: 6.5/10
V – Venue & Vibes
The outlet in Bloomsvale Shopping Gallery is bright and well-maintained. It provides a comfortable environment that effectively captures the “Char Chan Teng” energy without feeling too cramped, making it suitable for a quick office lunch or a family break.
Score: 8.0/10
X – X-Factor
The X-factor is the consistent seasoning of the XO sauce in the fried rice. Even with the oiliness, the sauce provided a depth of flavour that stood out, especially in contrast to the one-dimensional peppery udon.
Score: 7.0/10
