It was great to see our budding sous chef previously of Kamoshita origins, bloom and blossom 🌸 into his own chef-owner 10-seater Sushi Nakamura. To celebrate 🍾 his first anniversary Chef Kazu invited a cadre of his most loyal customers – and of course, we made the cut! What’s special on the menu is a $200 Omakase tuna 🍣 heavy relish he had prepared. His clientele is 99% Japanese so he and his wife had to do translations for us on that night. The standouts for me were the tuna of course, the steamed octopus 🐙 and the murasaki unni sea urchin. The fried tiger fish was also a delight.
