Table For Three Café Coffee

Coffee

Description

Post by Chiefeater VK

I came to Table For Three Café for the food. I left remembering the coffee.

Jen and I stopped by here for a late lunch and decided to share the Cha Cold Soba with an added Fried Chicken Katsu. Looking at the beautifully presented bowl of green tea soba topped with tobiko, bonito flakes, shredded egg, cucumber and cherry tomatoes, expectations were naturally quite high.

The soba itself was pleasant enough. Served chilled with a refreshing dipping broth, it made for a light and enjoyable meal on a warm afternoon. The noodles had a nice bite, while the toppings added colour and texture. It wasn’t particularly memorable, but there was certainly nothing wrong with it either.

The Fried Chicken Katsu, however, was a little disappointing. Visually, it looked excellent. The breadcrumb coating was beautifully golden and crisp, giving every bite a satisfying crunch. Unfortunately, the chicken itself lacked seasoning, leaving it tasting flatter than its appearance suggested. It felt like a missed opportunity because the texture was exactly what you would hope for.

Thankfully, the drinks completely changed the narrative.

Jen ordered the Passion Jasmine (RM15), which was every bit as attractive as it was refreshing. The floral notes of the jasmine tea worked beautifully with the passion fruit, although she felt another touch of passion fruit would have lifted the drink even further.

As for me, I decided to step away from my usual coffee order and try the TF3 Dirty Latte (RM15). That turned out to be the highlight of lunch.

Served with a distinct layer of milk beneath a rich espresso, the coffee evolved as I drank it. The first few sips delivered a bold espresso hit before gradually becoming creamier as the coffee mixed with the milk towards the bottom of the glass. It wasn’t just visually appealing—it genuinely changed character from the first sip to the last, making it one of the more interesting specialty coffee I’ve had recently.

Sometimes it’s the drinks that become the reason to return.

MVX Summary

MVX Score: 7.7/10

M – Meal Value
RM34.10 per person is reasonable, but the food didn’t quite justify getting excited about. The drinks carried the meal.
Score: 7.8/10

V – Venue & Vibes
A comfortable modern café that’s pleasant to spend time in.
Score: 7.9/10

X – X-Factor
The Dirty Latte was genuinely memorable, and the Passion Jasmine was enjoyable too. Unfortunately, the food itself didn’t reach the same standard, with the under-seasoned chicken katsu preventing the meal from becoming something I’d actively seek out again.
Score: 7.6/10
