Enso Teppanyaki Jesselton Mall Fire Show
Japanese, Teppanyaki
- RM100 - RM200 per pax
Enso Teppanyaki Jesselton Mall delivered a fiery cooking show and good service, but the bluefin tuna tataki and tofu were the meal's highlights

Gelato
We stopped at Cafe On Fifty5 in Kota Kinabalu for two scoops of gelato, choosing peanut butter and chocolate.

Both flavours were alright, but neither particularly impressed me. At RM14.90 for the two scoops, it was a reasonably priced treat, although I wouldn’t make a special trip back for the gelato.
What’s interesting about Cafe On Fifty5 is that it operates within a supermarket. You can buy something from the grocer and sit down to enjoy it at the café. It’s a convenient arrangement, although hardly a new concept for those of us familiar with similar places in Kuala Lumpur. It might be more of a novelty for some customers in Kota Kinabalu.
The café was comfortable and air-conditioned, but I was a little annoyed by the flies inside. It’s not something I particularly want to deal with while having dessert.
There was a decent selection of gelato flavours on display, including French Vanilla, Cookies & Cream, matcha and Raspberry Sorbet, alongside the flavours we chose.

Peanut Butter and Chocolate Gelato (2 scoops) – RM14.90
Total: RM14.90
MVX Score: 6.5/10
M – Meal Value
RM14.90 for two scoops of gelato was a reasonable price. Both the peanut butter and chocolate flavours were average, however, so the experience didn’t go beyond fair value.
Score: 7.0/10
V – Vibe & Venue
The café was comfortable and air-conditioned, but the presence of flies inside was annoying and detracted from the experience. The toilets were not inspected.
Score: 6.5/10
X – X-Factor
The ability to shop at the supermarket and dine at the café is convenient. There was nothing particularly outstanding about the gelato or the experience.
Score: 6.0/10
