Under The Tree Lengkok Burma Char Koay Teow
Char Kuey Teow, Street Food, Non-Halal
- Under RM20 per pax
Chiefeater Russ King Karl enjoyed the char koay teow from the hawker at Under The Tree Lengkok Burma
Curry Puff, Pork-Free
You’ll find Adam's Curry Puff operating humbly out of a stall in front of Sin Hup Chuan kopitiam, but don’t let the modest setup fool you. Word had reached me more than once about how good it was, so I had the chance to try one since it was just next to Lhong Tou Dim Sum.
At RM2.70 a piece, it’s not the cheapest street snack around, but the curry puff is generously sized and delivers well on taste. The pastry was flaky with just the right amount of crispness, holding together without being too oily or dry. Inside, the filling was well-seasoned — a warm, comforting mix of curried potatoes with a gentle heat.
It’s the kind of old-school curry puff that’s hard to come by nowadays — handmade, hearty, and flavourful. Definitely worth picking up if you’re in the area. Have one while it’s hot but don't burn your tongue.
