Chiefeater William WL Loo wanted a change of palate from street food so indulged in a bit of Italian with lunch at Basilico Restaurant
Curry Mee, Street Food, Non-Halal
Best old school curry mee in town is at Ah Ban Curry Mee in Timesway Restaurant. Opens at 5:30 am. This is located at the corner of Kuantan Road (they have a couple other branches, watch out for their t-shirt with Ah Ban logo, rest are pretenders)
This curry mee imho is the perfect old school white curry mee passed down by father Ah Ban to his sons. The curry gravy is intense with well balanced heat as all curry mees should be. A small bowl at RM5.50 comes with prawns, siham, blood cubes, tofu puff and cuttle fish.
The combination of taste, heat, bite and texture makes curry mee a fav amongst locals as they go about their morning pasar routine.
