Roast Pork, Street Food, Non-Halal
Took MRT from Sentul Barat to Kampung Batu Station for RM1.60/trip (pergi & balik costed RM3.20/pax). Headed over to Ancient City Coffee shop for our brunch. This time, we have more people, so I have more food to review and share. What we have this round.
Chilli Pan Meen at RM9/bowl - huge portion, lots of leafy vege, mushroom, fried anchovies, dry chillies, & a small bowl of soup with 3 biji fish ball. Pan Meen texture is soft yet a bit chewy and springy. I'm a Pork Free person. Thus, I opted out minced meat. The only setback is the fried anchovies. It's not crunchy and hard to chew.
Chinese Poached Chicken (Pak Chan Kai), Roast Pork & Roast Chicken at RM9/serving - Pak Cham Kai & Roast Chicken meat is smooth and tender. Roast pork is crispy, and the soya sauce that comes with the chicken is not too salty. Both my hubby and anak like it. My hubby is especially satisfied with the Pak Cham Kai. Even the soup tasted good
Char Siew Wanton Mee at RM7/plate - Char Siew is neither too fat nor too much lean meat. 口感很好(mouthfeel). Springy Wanton Noodle. Not soggy, not dry.
Toasted Polo Bun with Kaya & Butter - RM5.50/piece. This sweet bun covered with a crumbly crust that tastes like butter cookies is crispy after toast and spread with this layer of kaya, and the melted butter enhanced the taste to another level. I personally like this vs. the normal toast bread I tried before.
Beverages - Barley, Kopi-O, Cham & Chrysanthemum Tea Ping x 4. Drinks here come with less sweet. We need not have to ask for kurang manis.
My 2nd visit today, and everyone is satisfied with the food ordered. Will come again to explore other food stalls. Ancient City Coffee was crowded & we have to wait like 10 mins to secure a table for 4 pax.
