Artigusto Gelato Salted Pistachio Meets Blueberry Yoghurt

Sometimes the choice of two flavours makes more sense together than either would on its own. At Artigusto Gelato in Taman Paramount, I went with Salted Pistachio and Blueberry Yoghurt in a medium cup (RM20). Artigusto is an Italian-inspired gelateria that opened in Taman Paramount in late 2024, with a menu that mixes familiar gelato flavours with some less conventional choices.

The Salted Pistachio brought the richer side of the combination. Nutty, creamy and noticeably salty, it had enough savouriness to keep the sweetness under control. Artigusto describes it as a balance of pistachio with a subtle touch of salt, although I thought the salt came through quite clearly.

The Blueberry Yoghurt went in the opposite direction. There was fruitiness from the blueberry followed by a bit of sourness from the yoghurt, which helped cut through the richness of the pistachio.

Going back and forth between the two was probably more interesting than sticking to either flavour alone. One spoonful gave you salty, creamy nuttiness, the next brought some fruity tartness.

Was it exceptional gelato? I wouldn’t go that far. It was alright, but the contrast between these two flavours made the cup interesting.

Bright, clean and air-conditioned, with a simple contemporary interior and enough seating to enjoy your gelato comfortably rather than having to take it away.

X – X-Factor
The interesting part for me was the contrast. Salted Pistachio brought richness and saltiness while Blueberry Yoghurt added the fruity sour edge. Pleasant together, though not quite memorable enough to push the score higher.
