Mee Siam, Kai See Hor Fun, Pork-Free
I was on a food hunt in Pudu when I stumbled upon Big Ah Ma Cafe, which is located near the Pudu LRT station. The cafe serves a variety of local dishes, such as nasi lemak, curry mee, chee cheong fun, and toast. However, I was drawn to their Kai See Hor Fun and Mee Siam, which are their specialties.
Big Ah Ma’s used noodles that were a bit thicker and did not glide down the way I would like it. The broth was alright. The thing that made the Kai See Her Fun was the generously sized prawn, which was fresh and succulent.

The Mee Siam, I liked. The noodles were spicy and sour, but not too overpowering. The ingredients were well-mixed and cooked. The dish was garnished with scallions, red chillies, and fried shallots, which added some crunch and colour to the noodles. It was served with a wedge of lime to squeeze over the noodles for some acidity. The curry chicken that came with the Mee Siam was very decent. Flavourful and tender.
