Chinese-styled pasembur is among the most sought after hawker food in Penang.
It is a dish that consists of shredded mangkuang (jicama) and cucumber, deep fried taukua (bean curd), cucur and keropok (fritters and crackers) and jellyfish.
Deep fried taukua (bean curd), its soft texture balances up the flavour of pasembur.
These deep fried cucur (fritters) add fullness to pasembur.
Thin deep fried keropok (crackers) to give pasembur a firm and crispy taste as well.
Shredded cucumber, mangkuang (jicama) and jellyfish make up the rest of the ingredients of pasembur.
The fresh cucumber and mangkuang arranged on top of the deep fried ingredients before the sauce is poured over them.
