Chiefeater VK tries the Mongolian Fried Chicken Rice at Yi Kopitiam Puchong, a decent RM15.90 lunch served in air-conditioned comfort

Fried Chicken, Pork-Free
A celebratory lunch for a friend led us to Chicken & Beer, a fried chicken joint by Paper Kite, the award-winning beer brewer. Located in Damansara Uptown, this spot promised a fusion of hearty fried chicken and craft beer, making it an intriguing destination for fans of both.

The consensus? The OG flavour won hands down. Its seasoning complemented the chicken beautifully, while the spicy red, though flavourful, felt overpowering and masked the chicken’s natural taste. To further explore the menu, we ordered some chicken wings, which were decent but didn’t elevate the experience significantly.

We also had an OG flavoured set of chicken wings.

Pairing the chicken was an Oatmeal Stout brewed by Paper Kite which recently won a gold medal in the Stout and Porter category at the World Beer Awards. The stout had a slightly sweet, creamy aftertaste reminiscent of Suntory’s stout. So if you like that, this could be the stout for you.

The service here was a highlight—attentive, efficient, and friendly. Staff made sure our plates were cleared promptly. It was the service that won us over.
