Butterworth even though being part of Penang, has a tendency to do things differently (especially where food is concerned). Patrons expecting the same Island taste when ordering may be surprised when they are in Butterworth. Either it comes with additional items or they may be presented with something else instead. This is where our journey takes us to Dajiale Kopitiam.
Introducing one of Butterworth's Speciality - the Butterworth "Kon Lo" Koey Teow from Koey Teow Th'ng Stall at Dajiale Kopitiam
The Koey Teow is mixed with a dark sauce, with more or less standard Koey Teow Thng toppings with the soup served on the side. A Sambal is typical provided with sliced chilli and soya sauce.
The stall at Dajiale Kopitiam includes the Sambal into the Koey Teow. This is definitely an acquired taste.
Other food options at Dajiale Kopitiam includes a stall that does char hor fun pretty well.
Street Parking is available, however not during end of school hours as it just right next to a school.
Location: Penang, Butterworth, 3110, 6806邮政编码: 12200. Near Corner of Jln Telaga Air / Jln Raja Uda
Next to SRJK (C) Chung Hwa 1
Open:
While the kopitiam is open for the whole day, this Koey Teow stall is usually sold out during before lunch. So come early.
