Curry Mee, Pork Mee, Non-Halal
Walking does yield benefits especially when it comes to finding food. Dave Noodle Bar is not that nondescript that I would have missed it if I drove by but I would hardly have passed the road it’s on due to the traffic.
Dave Noodle Bar seems to specialise in pork noodles and even have a special Pork Bone Soup Bowl which starts at RM38.80 for 2 pax. However, the curry mee (RM12.50) caught my attention and that’s what I had while Jen had a pork noodle soup (RM11.50).

The curry mee had an option for Wantan Mee so that’s what I had. They did the Wantan Mee just right. Slightly short of al-dente but still firm enough to have a bite. The curry broth was thick but somehow lacked seasoning. They had some cockles in the bowl but it was overcooked and had turn rubbery. However, there was one saving grace. The pork slices that came with the curry mee. It was tender and flavourful. The other condiment that came with the curry mee were pork balls and taugeh.

Interestingly, Jen found her Pork Noodle at Dave Noodle Bar lacking flavour as well. The soup looked decent and thick enough but did not deliver in the taste department.
The bill for the two of us came up to RM25.20 which is just a slight premium over a kopitiam. While I can’t say much for the food this time around, they had other items on their menu like a pork innards platter that I might like to try the next time.
PSA - Street parking around Dave Noodle Bar would be tough to find so do yourself a favour and park in the multi-storey car park just opposite the outlet.
Prices are nett.
