I haven't been to Depot 11 by JWC in a while. The location is a bit out of the way in a light industrial park in Puchong but I've always enjoyed going there for the decor. There is something about old steel angle irons being used as table legs that makes me smile.
The breakfast prices here also make me feel fuzzy and warm. RM7 for a cup of coffee before 11 a.m. is a great deal and my usual Americano cup is smooth, strong and fragrant. I opt for the tuna pastry - it's full of surprisingly spicy tuna, a good protein fix in the morning.
I grab a quick early lunch here too before heading off. The smoked duck with rice is a fusion affair, combining delicious strips of smoked duck with rice and a simple salad. The duck is good but the barbeque sauce on top of the meat a little too sweet for my liking. I wish the kitchen had put less sauce on or put it in a separate part of the plate so I could enjoy the duck on its own.
A note for work-from-laptop folks: JWC has an open-plan processing area for coffee, flour and pastries, so it can get noisy when the staff are running the machinery in the morning. Bring headphones or earphones with good noise isolation and sit closer to the front entrance if you intend to make some calls.
