Durian
A mixed durian order can be interesting when one variety unexpectedly steals the show, and that was exactly what happened with this delivery from DurianMan SS2. Out of the three varieties ordered, it was the Kim Hong that ended up being the most enjoyable for me.
The durian came sealed in plastic bags that kept the aroma in until opened.

Trying Kim Hong for the first time turned out to be the highlight of the order. The texture might have been slightly watery, but the bitter sweet taste was the part I savoured most. It had enough character to stand out clearly, and even without the denser richness some people might look for, the flavour kept drawing me back. There was something very satisfying about the balance it struck.

The Udang Merah was good too. It had a pleasing sweetness and still felt like a proper quality box, so this was by no means a weak performer. It simply had the misfortune of sharing the table with a Kim Hong that landed more memorably for my palate.

The Musang King, on the other hand, was somewhat muted compared to the rest. That’s not to say it was bad, but it did not bring the kind of punch or depth that usually makes Musang King the dominant presence in a mixed order. In this case, it was the “quietest” of the three.

As a delivery experience, the durians arrived in neatly packed containers and were still satisfying to eat at home. The season’s (June 2026) discounted pricing also made the order feel easier to justify, especially when trying several varieties side by side.
Fresh Udang Merah 3 Boxes, sweet taste, 300g per box – RM75.00
Fresh Musang King 1 Box, 300g – RM63.00
Fresh Kim Hong 1 Box, 250g – RM40.00
Subtotal: RM178.00
Delivery fee: RM7.60
Total: RM185.60
Average per pax: RM61.87, based on 3 boxes/varieties shared across the order
MVX Score: 8.0/10
M – Meal Value
The order came to RM185.60 including delivery, but the discounted prices helped. Being able to try three different varieties in one go made the spend feel more worthwhile, especially with the Kim Hong standing out so strongly.
Score: 7.8/10
V – Vroomness of Delivery
The durians arrived properly packed in sealed containers and held up well as a home delivery order. Presentation was tidy, and the fruit was easy to enjoy without fuss.
Score: 8.2/10
X – X-Factor
The X-factor was the Kim Hong. It was the first time trying it, and its bitter sweet flavour made the strongest impression of the three.
Score: 8.5/10
