MJ SS3 Kopitiam brings its Chee Cheong Fun in from Ipoh, but it was the Turnip Roll dipped into curry sauce that caught my attention

French Onion Soup, Pork-Free
Located on the first floor of Sunway Geo, Giraffe Coffee is the newest addition to the array of dining options here. Upon perusing the menu, Jen opted for a classic French Onion Soup accompanied by a serving of Garlic Butter Nussels, while I settled on a Pepperoni Pizza.
The Garlic Butter Nussels (RM26) were a delightful start to our meal, boasting a tantalizing creamy and spicy garlic flavour that left us craving for more.

As for the Pepperoni Pizza (RM32), while I did not like the crust, it didn’t disappoint either. The generous toppings of savoury pepperoni and cheese provided a satisfyingly indulgent treat.

However, it was the French Onion Soup (RM18) that truly stole the spotlight. Brimming with rich, savoury broth and topped with a generous layer of melted cheese, each spoonful was a burst of flavour that warmed both the palate and the soul.

French Onion Soup (RM18), a staple of French cuisine, is typically made by slow-cooking onions until caramelized, then simmering them in a beef broth until they reach a rich, flavourful consistency. The soup is then ladled into bowls, topped with slices of baguette or croutons, and generously sprinkled with grated cheese before being placed under a broiler until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
The result is a comforting and deeply satisfying dish that marries the sweetness of caramelized onions with the savoury richness of beef broth and the creamy indulgence of melted cheese. Perfect for cold wet day. I will be back to Giraffe Coffee just for this.
