Hakka
After a rather underwhelming first dinner, we stopped by Hakka Bites on Jalan Gaya for a second round. Ordered the Tuaran Mee with Pork (RM13.90) and Cendol Gula Melaka Santa (RM8.90). This combination that turned out better for Jen than it did for me.
The noodles had that characteristic springy look but leaned on the mushy side. The roast pork pieces were a bit tired too, not quite crisp nor juicy, though the flavours were still serviceable. This was likely due to it being one of the last orders of the day.

On the upside, Jen’s cendol drink was a hit: rich gula Melaka syrup, creamy coconut milk, and chewy green jelly that made for a satisfying sweet finish.

Score: 7.3/10
M – Meal Value (7.0): RM22.80 for two items is fair; the cendol carried the meal.
V – Vibe & Venue (7.5): Clean, modern kopitiam-style interior with friendly service.
X – X-Factor (7.5): The cendol — refreshing, balanced, and sweet without being cloying.
