Mr Eight Kitchen Breakfast
Malaysian, Pork-Free
- RM20 - RM50 per pax
Chiefeater KC Yan had a nice breakfast at Mr Eight Kitchen on Jalan Burma which has been around since 1963
Western Food, Pork-free
Restaurant Hup Soon SS3 (Next to Shell), selling Western Food in the evenings must have been around for a good 30 years or more and considered a local institution. I first visited this place as a college student in 1992 and a plate of mixed grill cost RM10; now its RM34.
Still considered value for money since you get big pieces of lamb, chicken, fish, a sausage, fried egg, a serving of coleslaw & a bun. The lamb stew for RM6 is also worth ordering as it has generous chucks of meat & veggies in it. Other than the mixed grill, do check out their chicken & lamb chops, steaks (ribeye is the preferred option) and fish dishes.
Opens from 5pm onwards. Do pay them a visit when you need a generous serving of soul comforting food.
