Innland Bakery HK Polo Bun Breakfast
Post by Chiefeater Hedges Liang
Breakfast at Innland Bakery HK Polo Bun this morning was a little bit "hiong kan" style! When Hong Kong's name is mentioned, be prepared to pay slightly more but I'm loving it! I was their first customer at 7.30 am and it was a moment of peace sitting at a corner on a Hong Kong style round wooden chair, watching their staff preparing to open for business while listening to some kind of Buddhism soft music.
I don't know what to order so simply request for "yuk konng poulor pao" with a cup of "silk stocking milk tea". Hong Kong-style milk tea is a tea drink combining black tea and milk. The reason why this drink is named "silk-stocking milk tea" is that the drink is repeatedly filtered by a sackcloth bag to make the tea smoother. The bag is thus coloured in brown which looks like the silk-stocking. And I bought home "char siew poulor pao" (HK style snowy bun) for daughter! The cookie that includes with milk-tea is so good to taste!
