Chiefeater Aun Chuan made a visit to the legendary apom manis sold at Ravi’s Claypot Apom in Pulau Tikus

Local Breakfast, Coffee, Pork-Free
So there I was, taking my first flight out of the country in what seemed like years (it actually was years) and looking for a spot for breakfast. KLIA2 is a tad nicer than other local airports in having a good selection of affordable local food. I fire up this esteemed site and what do you know – Ipoh Vintage pops up.
Chiefeater VK had previously written about this very outlet and I’m happy to find that it’s still decent. I ordered a DIY combo of a steamed bread with butter and kaya, iced white coffee and 2 kampung eggs done soft boiled.

For about RM20, it’s a substantial yet affordable breakfast, especially at an airport. The bread comes in a wicker basket, all warm and soft, with little bowls of margarine and green pandan kaya on the side. You have to spoon the sweet and fatty stuff on to the spongy bread, which predictably results in a sticky greasy mass all over your fingers. Have wet wipes ready for the subsequent degreasing operation.
The coffee is strong and not very sweet, just the way I like it. The eggs are done just nice too and they’re perfect for dipping the steamed bread into. All in all, a good place for breakfast and some laptop time before you head off into the air.
