TANYU 313 Somerset Spicy Food
Eventhough Chiefeater William WL Loo is already used to a variety of spices, the spicy food at TANYU 313 Somerset took him to another level
Wantan Mee, Street Food, Non-Halal
This very popular wantan mee stall made its mark at its previous location in the Chew Jetty Cafe in Weld Quay.
Mr Winner Ho, the proprietor (seen in the picture above), moved his business to this present coffee shop in early June 2024 to be nearer to his home.
His special 3-flavour wantan mee is the best seller and it is attracting just as many customers as before, if not more.
One plate of this special 3-flavour wantan mee comes with portions of sesame oil, dark soya sauce and Sichuan mala (hot and spicy) flavoured noodles. For those who prefer the old-school flavour, this is the wantan mee for you.
The big, round wantan filled with minced pork and bits of water chestnuts are different from the usual flat and flimsy ones.
Deep fried wantan are also available as a side order.
Each plate of wantan mee comes with 3 pieces of wantan and customers may add 2 more pieces for an extra RM1.50.
Mr Ho and his wife, together with their daughter, always prepare their wantan meticulously, irrespective of the number of customers who are waiting. "We take time to prepare the noodles to keep the flavour and tastiness consistent," Mr Ho said with a smile.
Customers make their orders and receive a number, joining the queue to be served. On a busy day, it could be more than half an hour.
