Sang Nyuk Mee, Street Food, Non-Halal
As we strolled along Jalan Pantai, our attention was drawn to Kedai Kopi Melanian 3—the number in its name hinting at an expansion beyond its original outlet. Intrigued by its apparent popularity, we decided to step in and experience their Sang Nyuk Mee (Sabah-style pork noodle soup).

We opted for a bowl of Mixed Pork Sang Nyuk Mee (RM17), and it proved to be an excellent choice. The star of the dish was undoubtedly the noodles. Springy, perfectly coated in a deep, rich soy sauce that had just the right balance of savouriness and sweetness. Honestly, they were so well-prepared that they could be enjoyed on their own, without even needing the soup!

The accompanying pork broth was warm and comforting, packed with different cuts of pork, including tender slices, offal, and pork balls. The kidney, in particular, was prepared exceptionally well—clean, fresh, and tender, without any unpleasant aftertaste. The broth itself was light yet flavourful, enhanced by the fried garlic floating on top.

If you’re someone who enjoys spice, their Sabah-style chili sauce is a must-try. However, a little goes a long way. It carries a sharp heat that can easily overpower the dish if you’re not accustomed to it. Take it slow and savour it alongside the soup for the best experience.
