since the opening of Kenny Hills Bakers George Town about in January 2025, i had always wanted to drop in. did asked some friends here and there but in the end decided, better to go alone. so yesterday i went during brunch time. wow! already opened about 2 months ago and yet there was a queue to enter. when i went to the queue line, i notice about 10 persons in front of me. waited near 15 mins.
when allowed to enter, the staff will immediately tell you your table no. so you go and search for your table. luckily i asked the staff “whereabout?” when he told me my table no. as i entered. he said “upstairs”. first of all being new there, i was not aware there is ground floor and 1st floor. then luckily i was told upstairs…. if not i will go search on ground floor first. see, must learn to be smart a bit.
salt beef reuben toastie - RM32.00
with gherkins, grainy mustard, & melted gruyere cheese.
this was good. the 'saltiness' was just nice.... not overly salty. the beef was in a er... 'ham style' and tasted delicious, tender and easy to cut. the cheese topping was good too and the bread was very crispy by the side and top.
overall very good but too filling for me. in the end, i wallop up the beef but not the bread. leave the top half bread, can't go in my tummy anymore.
dirty iced coffee - RM19.00
iced latte with homemad vanilla, condensed milk, ice cream and topped with milo powder. very good
peach strudel - RM19.00
takeaway - 'kiasu' so had to order it. the most popular food where i notice almost all tables will have it. with cream cheese, peach slices, layered in between puff pastry. the peaches were sweet and tasty and the puff was crispy. again, this one, like the main dish i ordered eat in, has double layered
