Chiefeater David Quah enjoyed a lovely Middle Eastern cuisine meal at Garden Lebanon Restaurant Tanjung Bungah
Sandwich, Pork-Free
Despite Kubis & Kale being around for a while, this was my first time trying their food at Kubis & Kale Bukit Jalil. Service was already off to a good start—the outlet manager was attentive and noticed we were taking our time with the menu. She came over to check if we needed any guidance, which was a thoughtful touch that earned them points.
I opted for the Sichuan Hot Chicken Sandwich (RM19.80), intrigued by the promise of bold spices. The mala flavour was well-balanced—spicy and fragrant without overwhelming numbing heat, making it enjoyable even for those who may not typically go for mala dishes. The seasoning was spot on, but I found the chicken a bit tough, which slightly took away from the experience. That said, it was still a solid sandwich with well-rounded flavours.
While a bit on the premium side, the overall experience—attentive service, interesting flavours, and a comfortable setting—makes it worth considering for those who enjoy a good, well-seasoned sandwich. This may be a grouse but the delivery of food did take awhile to arrive at my table. To be fair, all the tables were occupied.
