Wantan Mee, Street Food, Non-Halal
Everybody knows this small border town, Pekan Lunas, is famous for its duck rice but unknown to many is a wantan mee shop that has been in business here for more than 60 years, Lao Yeong Wan Tan Mee.
They operate under a big tree
The current proprietor, Mr Yeong Ci Chun, is the third generation in his family to sell this humble egg noodles.
Mr Yeong is among the very few wantan mee hawkers that uses a clock to time the cooking time of the noodles. He does so to serve the noodles with the desired springiness. If you look closely, you might see the a clock tied to the pole on the left.
At Lao Yeong Wan Tan Mee, the noodle gravy is light and delectable, not the thick gluey type.
Prices for a bowl of wantan mee start at RM5.00
Open : 7.00 am - 3.30 pm
Closed : Monday
