Hotpot, Non-Halal
On a private holiday trip to Dalat, the Cameron Highlands version in Vietnam - cool and refreshing air in the highlands through the year. In the cooling atmosphere, what's better than a boiling pot of chicken soup hotpot for dinner. Our driver took us to a famous and traditional chicken hot pot restaurant, Lẩu gà lá é 668, a wooden place on the outskirt of town.
The soupy chicken hot pot comes in a pot placed over a burner with solid wax fuel. The soup contain enoki mushroom, shiitake mushroom, bamboo shoots, and spiced with whole black pepper. The hot pot set comes with boiled rice vermicelli and instant noodles, a plate of basil leaves, bird's eye chilli and a small source plate of greenish yummy sauce.
The range free chicken was sweet, tender and tasty, the soup was refreshing and flavourful. Thinking that as in our Bak Kut Teh, we requested for a soup top up, but was politely refused.
Restaurant was packed during dinner tine, but service was fast, and price was consider reasonable.
