Italian, Pizza
Revisiting familiar culinary haunts after a long time brings a classic sense of anticipation, especially when stepping back into Luce Osteria Contemporanea. Located in Old Kuala Lumpur near Bukit Nanas, the restaurant delivers an authentic, rustically styled Italian trattoria environment.
The wood-fired oven takes center stage amidst warm brick accents and cozy dining tables, establishing an inviting, trattoria like atmosphere that was well-suited for a relaxed lunch on a weekend.

The meal kicked off with a complimentary bread basket, which provided a simple delight to stir up the appetite.

The true highlight of the meal emerged when the pizza margherita arrived. It was lovely—a beautifully balanced, generously topped pizza that tasted every bit as good as it looked, showing off a well-blistered crust from the wood-fired oven. The crust was so good that I enjoyed eating it all by itself.

Even this takeaway remained excellent when we had it for dinner.

We also had a gnocchi dish; while it tasted good with a well-calibrated flavor base, the execution left something to be desired structurally. The texture was too soft for my liking, and I should have asked for it to be cooked a bit firmer to retain a proper al dente bite.

To finish, the classic tiramisu concluded the meal on an alright note, delivering standard traditional profiles.

The other standout for me was the outstanding service from the front of house crew. They asked if I would like to have the pasta served together with the pizza instead of assuming that we would want it together.
